Internship Opportunity

This paid internship is funded by the Serving the City Internships program and is only available to students at Fordham College at Lincoln Center and Fordham College at Rose Hill.

Teaching Internship
4 hours per week including transportation to class, class preparation, in
person Dance to Unite class inNYC Public School, and social media
support/Engagement

Start Date: September/October 2023
(September orientations and trainings begin, Classes start in October)
End Date: June 2024

Dance to Unite, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to
utilize dance and guided conversations about values as a vehicle to teach and
to celebrate cultural diversity.

Dance to Unite is committed to creating positive experiences for children to
develop understanding, acceptance, respect and compassion for their own
culture and for all cultures culminating in unity for the purpose of future
peace.

The Dance to Unite Intern will train in the Dance to Unite teaching method in
a Dance to Unite class. The Dance to Unite Teaching Method focuses on Social
Emotional Learning (SEL) education, weaved into unique dance instruction for
children. Interns are expected to maintain good communication with their
teaching artist lead and come to each class on time and prepared.

QUALIFICATIONS
An applicant for this position should have dance and education background/
interest as well as:
- Passion for working with children.
- 4 hour / week time commitment to intern in one of our classes from
September to June.
- Reliable and responsive communication.
- Team player mentality.
