Overview:
The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is a leading source of blood cancer information, education and support for patients, survivors, families and healthcare professionals. We help patients navigate their cancer treatment and work to ensure patients have access to quality, affordable and coordinated care. We also engage in significant advocacy and research efforts in pursuit of the goal of curing blood cancer and ensuring health equity. In the meantime, patients need help before, during and after their diagnosis and treatment. A particular blood cancer called multiple myeloma is more than twice as common in the Black community than in those of other races or ethnicities, and studies show that Black patients face additional barriers and lower access to care as well. As advocates for health equity, LLS is determined to erase these disparities, and started the Myeloma Link campaign to support these efforts (www.lls.org/myeloma-link). As an intern with us, you have the chance to work each day to support these efforts, and to help make our overall mission a reality: Cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

The Metro NY Region of The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS) is seeking an energetic, personable, and detail-oriented intern to assist in the area of Patient and Community Outreach and in particular to help expand the awareness and success of our Myeloma Link awareness campaign.
