Public Relations + Marketing Intern

THIS ROLE IS FOR FCRH AND FCLC STUDENTS ONLY

This paid internship is funded by the Serving the City Internships program and is available only to students at Fordham College at Lincoln Center and Fordham College at Rose Hill who will be enrolled throughout the duration of the internship. Students enrolled in other schools at Fordham or who will graduate or transfer before the internship end date are not eligible.

 

 

 

 

Marketing & PR Intern

5 - 10 hrs/week, mainly remote; possibility of some in-person meetings or events 

 

Start Date: ASAP

Receive hands-on experience at an exciting Festival that merges chamber music (classical, jazz, & new music) with the visual and culinary arts in the Chelsea neighborhood!


 

We are looking for interns in our Marketing/Public Relations area for work starting ASAP, through the fall and early winter.


 

The Marketing & PR intern will contribute to communicating the spirit of the Chelsea Music Festival to varied audiences,  undertake research, and develop strategies to attract Festival attendees via social media and traditional forms of advertising.  This student will also occasionally assist in other areas of administration such as development (donor outreach & cultivation)

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

During the internship, intern will 

  • Update existing contacts at various media outlets
  • Follow-up with media leads for interviews, reviews, articles, calendar listings
  • Draft and edit press releases and social media captions
  • Gather and analyze data gathered from social media traffic
  • Create content for CMF social media sites for the promotion of events, artists & partners
  • Identify archival images for promotional use
  • Organize data for Festival mailing list
  • Research new audiences and avenues for outreach 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal intern candidate possesses 

  • Knowledge of various forms of information distribution and familiarity with social media platforms
  • Knowledge of performing, visual, or culinary arts preferred
  • Strong research, writing and oral communication skills skills
  • Ability to take initiative, be disciplined, and be detail-oriented
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a remote environment and to be responsive by text and email for time-sensitive updates 
  • Knowledge of graphic design applications (such as Adobe Creative Suite) preferred
