Development Intern

Join the Chelsea Music Festival Team!

Receive hands-on experience at an exciting Festival that merges chamber music (classical, jazz, & new music) with the visual and culinary arts in the Chelsea neighborhood!

We are looking for an intern for our Development area for work starting ASAP, through the Festival (June 20-30) and post-Festival follow-up (through mid-August).

5 - 10 hours/week
Pre-Festival - hybrid; during Festival (June 20-30) - in person; post-Festival - remote

Start Date: ASAP
End Date: August 15

RESPONSIBILITIES
 Prior to and during the course of the Festival, interns will
  • Familiarize themselves with Festival distinctives and programming during previous years
  • Research possible sponsors and corporations to support the mission of CMF
  • Draft correspondence to existing and potential donors
  • Follow up on leads for potential donors and partner organizations
  • Generate fundraising ideas and work on existing fundraising projects and campaigns

QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal intern candidate possess 
  • Knowledge of several forms of information distribution (traditional print and radio, social media platforms)
  • Strong research, writing and speaking skills
  • Ability to communicate professionally in social settings
  • Ability to work independently on projects
  • Ability to collaborate remotely in a team-oriented environment and to be responsive via email and text for time-sensitive updates
