The Center for Fiction is the only nonprofit literary organization in the U.S. solely dedicated to celebrating fiction. In February 2019, we opened the doors to our new building in Downtown Brooklyn, creating a home for NYC’s literary community with our library, writers studio, bookstore, and café-bar. We’re known for our Emerging Writer Fellowships, KidsRead/KidsWrite programs for NYC public schools, reading groups, writing workshops, and literary events, including our innovative panels, performances, lectures, and conversations.

We are seeking a Writing Programs Marketing & Special Projects intern to help us advertise and promote 4 Writing Programs at The Center for Fiction. This position will be responsible for building social media campaigns, preparing promotional materials, supporting the Director of Writing Programs in the development of an alumni program, clerical and administrative duties. We are seeking candidates who are passionate about the literary world and have interest in marketing and project management. In addition to gaining experience in marketing and project management, this is a great opportunity to practice literary citizenship, learn more about the nonprofit and literary worlds, and to get hands-on experience that could translate to work in publishing, marketing, and independent bookstores.

This is a hybrid position. The Writing Programs Special Projects intern will report directly to the Director of Writing Programs (Randy Winston) and may also collaborate with other departments.
