NY Sun Works Corporate Partnership Intern

Part-Time 

Format: Hybrid or fully remote

This paid internship is funded by the Serving the City program and is only available to students at Fordham College at Lincoln Center and Fordham College at Rose Hill.

 

NY Sun Works is a non-profit organization that builds innovative science labs in NYC public schools. We use 21st century hydroponic farming technology to educate students and teachers about the science of sustainability, climate, and nutrition. We envision a generation of environmental innovators empowered to create solutions to global climate challenges.

NY Sun Works is seeking a Corporate Partnership/Social Impact Intern to help build connections with ethical companies interested in Corporate Social Responsibility partnerships. The intern will help identify target companies, conduct background research on potential corporate partners, and help to identify potential ways that NY Sun Works and potential corporate partners could work together. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, flexible, professional, and capable of managing their work load and prioritizing tasks in a fast-paced non-profit environment.

Outreach Intern Job Responsibilities:

Intern will work closely with the Program Development team and Marketing Strategist to define project goals and plan project execution on the following:

  • Identify corporations who have corporate giving opportunities and their giving priorities
  • Conduct detailed research on identified corporate partners
  • Build database of potential corporate partners and research collected
  • Work closely with Program Development team and Marketing Strategist to develop priorities for corporate outreach based on research collected
  • Work closely with Program Development team and Marketing Strategist to develop materials for corporate giving outreach
  • Update NY Sun Works school partner database as needed

Working Hours:

Offices are located in the Lincoln Center neighborhood. Work can be a combination of in-person and remote. This is an excellent opportunity to work with a fast-growing, mission-driven organization, joining a group of fun and dedicated colleagues. Office hours are 9:30 - 5:30. Will require use of a personal laptop and access to the Internet.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently
  • Comfortable with multitasking in a deadline-driven environment
  • Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, etc.)
  • Basic internet research skills
